How does the manufacture of rubber, resin, and pre-inked stamps work?
Here is a presentation of the manufacturing methodology for the three main types of stamps:
Rubber stamp
- Creation of the negative film.
- Exposure of the hard photopolymer through the negative.
- Etching of the photopolymer.
- Drying: removal of excess water.
- Post-exposure: final hardening of the photopolymer.
- Making an impression of the photopolymer in the matrix: obtaining a recessed mold.
- Making an impression of the rubber in the matrix.
- Cutting and mounting of the various stamps.
Resin stamp
- Creation of the negative film.
- Preparation of the resin.
- Back exposure: base of the stamp.
- Main exposure through the negative: characters.
- Etching of the resin.
- Post-exposure: final curing, removal of tackiness.
- Drying: removal of excess water.
- Cutting and assembly of the various stamps.
Pre-inked stamp
- Production of the negative film.
- Exposure of the hard photopolymer through the negative.
- Etching of the photopolymer.
- Drying: removal of excess water.
- Post-exposure: final curing.
- Impression of the photopolymer into the blank: obtaining a recessed matrix.
- Securing the matrix in a steel frame.
- Filling with premix, degassing, placement of the felt.
- Gelation of the premix in the press.
- Cooling of the frame.
- Cold demolding, cutting, and assembly of the various stamps.
Pre-inked stamp with frame blank
- Production of the negative film.
- Exposure of the hard photopolymer through the negative.
- Etching of the photopolymer.
- Drying: removal of excess water.
- Post-exposure: final hardening.
- Impression of the photopolymer into the frame blank: obtaining a recessed matrix.
- Filling with premix, degassing, and placement of the felt.
- Gelation of the premix in the press.
- Cooling of the frame blank, possible in open air.
- Cold demolding, cutting, and assembly of the various stamps.
