Laser galvanometrique Co2 3 axes avec bati fermé

3-axis galvanometric CO2 laser

3-axis CO2 lasers are high-precision marking and engraving systems built for industrial applications where flexibility and processing quality are critical.

Unlike standard 2-axis CO2 lasers, 3-axis technology uses dynamic optics to extend the working area while keeping the beam focused and consistent across the entire surface.

This design brings clear advantages: a larger marking area without any loss of sharpness, and dynamic focal control that allows marking on flat, angled, or slightly curved surfaces with uniform power and quality throughout.

These capabilities make 3-axis CO2 lasers particularly well suited for demanding applications involving plastics, paper, technical textiles, glass, and organic materials.

How does a CO2 laser engraver or cutter work?

A CO2 laser is a powerful tool that uses a laser beam to engrave, mark, or cut various materials, with a process that follows several essential steps:

Laser Beam Generation

  • A tube filled with carbon dioxide (CO2) and other gases is electrically excited.
  • This produces an infrared beam of a specific wavelength.

Beam Transmission and Focusing

  • The beam is directed by mirrors toward a laser head equipped with a focal lens.
  • The lens concentrates the beam into a very precise point.

Interaction with the Material

  • Marking: the beam heats and alters the surface, causing carbonization that creates a visual contrast between the original color and the one obtained after marking.
  • Engraving: the beam heats and carves into the material surface, removing a thin layer to form a precise and durable pattern.
  • Cutting: the beam heats and cuts completely through the material with precision and quality.

Residue Removal and Cooling

  • An extraction system removes fumes and particles.
  • A cooler (water or air) prevents the laser tube from overheating.

Laser marking

This technique consists of burning the surface of the material, causing carbonization that creates a visual contrast between the original color and the one obtained after marking. This method is often used to ensure part traceability, increment serial numbers, or add references.

Laser engraving

In this process, the laser carves into the surface of the material, removing a thin layer to form a pattern. This allows for detailed engravings on plates or other surfaces, offering precise and durable personalization.

Laser cutting

Laser cutting involves completely piercing the material with a very fine laser beam (about 100 microns). This technique offers high precision and superior cutting quality for various applications such as model making, cutting gaskets, or paper for invitations….

Advantages and uses of our CO2 laser cutting and engraving machines

  • ADVANTAGES

Precision and finesse: they allow for extremely sharp and precise marking and engraving.

Material versatility: they can process a wide range of materials such as wood, acrylic, leather, glass, paper, textiles, and many others.

Fast and efficient cutting: thanks to their power, they can quickly cut complex parts, which is perfect for mass production.

Non-contact technology: the lasers do not come into physical contact with the material, thus reducing maintenance costs and extending the machine’s lifespan.

Ease of use: most CO2 laser systems are easy to control via intuitive software, allowing for quick customization and accessibility for both beginners and experts.

No pollution or physical waste: cutting or engraving does not generate physical debris, which reduces the risk of contamination of the finished product and limits cleaning.

High repeatable precision: they can produce consistently accurate and uniform results, even on large quantities of parts.

Energy efficiency and reduced long-term cost: They use a relatively economical power source compared to other cutting technologies, making them a cost-effective option in the long run.
