How does your markings on ID-Mark work?

Marking on ID-Mark material is based on a simple and fast process using UV photosensitivity.

Creation of the visual (typography, logo, etc.)

  • Design the pattern or text to be engraved using graphic design software (such as CorelDraw, Illustrator, etc.).
  • The file is then printed in opaque black on a transparent film, generally using a suitable laser or inkjet printer.

UV exposure

  • The printed film is placed on the ID-Mark sheet and the assembly is exposed to a UV light source for a few minutes.
  • The areas masked by the black ink are not exposed, while the other areas react to the UV light.

Water-based development

  • After exposure, the plate is immersed in water (at room or lukewarm temperature). By gently rubbing with a soft sponge, the unexposed parts dissolve, revealing the marking.

Drying

  • The plate is then rinsed and dried, either manually or with warm air.

Application of a protective film or varnish

  • For outdoor use or in harsh environments, a UV protection or a transparent film can be applied to increase the durability of the marking.

Cutting and installation

  • The plate can be cut according to your needs (shape, size) using scissors, a shear, or a plotter. Thanks to the integrated adhesive, application on a surface is simple and durable.
