UV Doming

Doming is achieved using a UV resin that solidifies instantly under the effect of ultraviolet lamps.

UV resin offers the advantage of extremely fast drying and immediate handling, which speeds up production.

Ideal for mass production and short deadlines, it is generally intended for items where rapid drying is essential.

It is resistant to external elements and provides good protection against impacts, thus preserving the prints.

How does Polyurethane and UV Doming work?

Doming, whether Polyurethane or UV, is carried out in several stages:

Label preparation :

The label is first printed with the desired design or logo using an eco-solvent or solvent printer, or via screen printing. It is important that the label surface remains clean and free of dust.

Resin application

A transparent resin (Polyurethane or UV-based) is then deposited onto the print using a pneumatic applicator. This resin forms a thick layer that covers the image, creating a 3D relief effect and a glossy finish.

Curing

Depending on the type of resin used, curing takes place in a drying oven (for polyurethane resins) or in an ultraviolet light oven (for UV resins). This process hardens the resin, ensuring the durability of the finish.
