Advantages of our Polycolor material
Polycolor is a photosensitive anodized aluminum designed for creating high-quality color markings directly into the surface of the metal, offering a durable and aesthetic solution, ideal for demanding environments.
Marking is performed by UV exposure through a printed film, followed by water development; the dye is then applied manually and penetrates the pores. After stripping the sensitive layer, the plate is anodized in a boiling water solution to seal the image within the anodic layer.
This material is particularly well-suited for industrial and outdoor applications due to its resistance to UV rays, chemicals, scratches, and corrosion, ensuring precise, permanent, and long-lasting markings.

How does marking on Polycolor work?
Marking on Polycolor material works through a photographic process using UV light.
Visual preparation
- The design or text is printed in positive on a transparent film.
Positioning
- The film is placed on the Polycolor plate inside a UV exposure unit.
UV exposure
- The plate is exposed to UV light. The areas protected by the black ink remain intact, while the other areas are exposed.
Water development
- The plate is rinsed with water, which opens the porosity of the plate in the unexposed areas. The exposed areas remain protected.
Coloring
- The chosen dye is applied using an impregnated cotton pad. It penetrates the pores of the aluminum.
Stripping
- The plate is stripped in a bath to remove the sensitive layer. The marking remains only in the colored zones (pores).
Sealing
- The plate is sealed in a hot water bath that closes the anodizing pores, encapsulating the image inside the aluminum.
